What is Biomimicry?
Biomimicry is an innovation methodology that looks to nature’s 3.8 billion years of evolution for ideas, strategies, and design principles.
Rather than asking how humans have solved a problem before, biomimicry asks how nature addresses similar challenges. By studying biological functions and translating them into design principles, we can uncover new possibilities for products, materials, organizational processes, and business models.
In doing so, biomimicry helps reframe problems, challenge assumptions, and reveal opportunities that may otherwise remain unseen.
